Parallel 49's pumpkin spice beer is even better than last year
For the past few Septembers, Parallel 49 Brewing Company along with Brewmaster Graham With have released a temporary pumpkin spice Oktoberfest beer called Schadenfreude that has been met with open arms (and mouths) from the beer drinking community.
This year the team at P49 decided to experiment with the brew. Let me be the first to tell you, the results are incredible. According to With, the central difference in the beer is a shift from a German brew to a more Canadian style beer with a German influence. What we are left with is a dark malty beer with slight pumpkin hints and a heavier caramel kick than ever before. The beer is really really really good. Find Parallel 49’s Pumpkin Oktoberfest on shelves this September.
Parallel 49’s Schadenfreude Oktoberfest beer debuted among a crowd of beer enthusiasts at an exclusive Pinball Wizard industry appreciation event last night. A pop-up vintage arcade, stacked gourmet steamies, and a variety of Parallel 49 taps infiltrated the space at the Landyachtz Factory Store in East Vancouver.
We were fortunate enough to be invited to the event, chat with some industry pros, and taste the reincarnation of Parallel 49’s Schadenfreude Pumpkin Oktoberfest. We also snapped some photos – check them out here:
