OUR MISSION
In Vancouver, when it rains it pours. Over the last decade-plus there’s been a downpour of delicious craft brews in our city. VANPOURS captures Vancouver’s craft beer scene one pour at a time. We’re passionate fans who go beyond the beer to the people and places that make this industry special. We create content for the newcomers and veterans of the community.
While our coverage hones in on the expanding scene in the Lower Mainland, we also explore beers, breweries, and bars across beautiful BC and beyond.
OUR Story
VANPOURS was founded in 2015 by Chris Dinsdale and Brett Montrose. Chris and Brett studied, roomed, and ran track & field together at Simon Fraser University. After a few years of drinking sub-par macro-brewed beers on campus, they figured it was time to start exploring and documenting the craft beer scene across Vancouver. A handful of hoppy west coast IPAs later and our blog was born.
In the fall of 2016 Luke Mikler joined the team as our photographer. Luke and Chris met while working on marketing projects at BC Hydro. After a few months of collaborating at their day jobs they discovered their shared interest in local beer. The rest is history!
In 2017, Brett stepped away from being actively involved in VANPOURS to pursue a new entrepreneurial endeavor full time. His new company is focused on improving the college and university recruiting process for track & field athletes. Check out Streamline Athletes to learn more.
Today, VANPOURS is headed up by Chris and Luke with occasional support from industry friends. If you’re interested in collaborating, send us a note via our contact page!
